That post makes good sense. I've read a few posts where people have fried their 359's and maybe that's been the culprit. Will a leaking intake boot display the same symptoms (like idle speed variations when the saw is tipped sideways) like other leaks? Anyway, I ordered the parts for like $5 yesterday. Would I be better off to let the saw shop replace this part or should I try it myself? The saw runs great now but I'm extremely paranoid.

A leaking boot will display the same symptoms as other air leaks. If you enjoy working on your own stuff you will not have a problem replacing it yourself. It is a job that requires more patients than experience. If you would like a copy of the service manual, let me know and I will post one for you.

Patients?....Like mental patients??

ROTF

It is easier than installing back up nuts when a 55 comes in that the owner has stripped the plastic carb mount block threads.

If you're referring to the service manual that's listed in the Sticky Reference Links, I already downloaded it. If not, I would greatly appreciate it. Either way, thanks for the info. The dealer ordered the new parts said he would ask Husqvarna about the bulletin and he would probably charge approx $30 to change the boot. If it's the same guy that's been there forever --I'll probably just get him to do it.
