Husky 460 ???????

Just bought a demo husky 460:jawdrop: . first Demo saw i ever bought. i bought it from a as sponsor. first off what to do to it muffler or carb mods. i bought this to too run a 24" bar with full skip chain. just to good of a deal to pass up for $300.00 it aint to hard to feel guilty if it goes bye bye if the mods do not improve the saws performance. hope to see if the thing will pull the chain with power for the 24" bar and chain. this site made me buy the darn thing. as = this dease ---><>

i do not plan on comparing against another saw . i want see if what the saws worth before mods and after (load power, chainn speed and chain torque) . i want too see if the new husky saws are capable of any real attention. i run stihls after my last 55 husky died after three months of light use .
swore never to buy a husky again but wtf the price was to good too pass up. if the thing can cut i may want too send it up washington hot saw and let dean ruin it for me just kidin dean. dean does good saw mods he may even make the husky saws start to fill my shop up againn aint lookin to compare saw just seein what saws have the ablity to be tweaked or modified

Did you read any of the homeowner saw threads? This group talked me out of the saw you purchased. Saw sold for slightly less than new.

thats what every body says. that is why it will wear full skip chain and have muffler mods and other secert ideas. if it do not work than i will sell it an buy more stihls an less huskys.
husky list it with the 24" bar . the as sponsor that i bought it from lists it with the 24" bar. the ponderosa pine i cut is fairly easy to cut . it will cut like butter with a razor sharp chain.

16 inch bar???...That ain't good for nuthin' but picking teeth.....It would be a stretch,but that 460 should handle a 24 inch bar...I'd reccomend skip chain though.

Well, I have one for my 372 - will try it with an 8-pin for firewood blocking.......:greenchainsaw:

the saw cuts like a hot knife through snow. the saw has a grey black cap with a green seal . i looked at a new 455 rancher a lowes yesterday it look the same except the label said 56 cc not the 60 cc as on the 460 . can a differrent muffler fit the 460. i would like to mod it but the darned thing is sealed :confused :angry2: :

I've yet to ever personally see an 048. The 048 in the pic reminds me of an 046 in its shape but the orange gas cap stands out and looks similar to the one on certain 029 supers? Correct me if I am wrong...i've had a few beers and may not be on top of my game.... (or lack there of as some would say)

My earlier research suggests the 455 and 460 are the same saws. Just a slightly larger bore and piston on the 460.

True - the 359 is a much better (pro quality) saw, at least without the e-tech.
