Husky 50 chain tensioner

Hey,

I have a Husky 50 which is missing 501 45 27-01.

I know the tensioner is functional without that part. But, I would like to know what material that thing is made out of.

And, what it's called. When I google the PN, I just get hits showing the full assembly.

It's kinda like a rubbery nylon material. A shaped piece of nylon would work also.

I read that you can just use a little snip of fuel line. I haven't tried it but I will if needed.

PartsTree and Amazon are calling it a "nut." Ha.

If I make one...I will report back.

My dealer gave me 1/4” of fuel line when mine went missing and then the screw did too.

Yesterday, a basket case 55 came to me. It has the part I need for the 50.

As Chev said, it feels like hard rubber. I will look into making one (I actually need two). Maybe I will cut them from a retired AV mount?

Thing is small!

OK. I made two of them today, and they work correctly.

I used retired AV mounts from this saw. Cut disks off the AV mount with hacksaw. Drill. Trim.

Easy.

I've snipped fuel line to short lengths in order to fix a dozen or so tensioners.
