I have a 55 Rancher that runs great kinda bogs down when into heavy cutting. I only cut for my own firewood or fun BUT i still like the best. I'm seriously thinking of getting a Husky 359 I dont want to spend more then $415 or Muffler Mod my 55 Rancher. Any ideas? I did have the Husky 346xp i didnt like that saw. 359 have more guts then the 346xp ? When it's all said and done i'll still keep the 55 rancher anyhow runs great. BUT i'm seriously thinking of a 359 .

I HAD a 455 Rancher and that thing was a turd-box. I'd probably go with the 359. If you had the extra cash go with the 357xp. But ive heard the 359 with a muffler mod is a pretty mean machine.

The 55 was a much better saw than the 455 is. I've run one and thought it was okay...better than I anticipated.

As with any newer saw, open up the muffler a bit, do a search on the site, this has been covered a few times before.

Just go ahead and spring for a 3120....I've never ran one I have an 088,but It'll surely have enough grunt....If that doesn't do it,try a Hydro-AX saw head...that's the mother of em' all

If you plan on keeping the 55 anyway then mod the muffler first and see how you like it. It is easy and won't cost you anything. If you are still unsatisfied with the 55, get a larger saw. If $415 is your limit then about the only practical option is a 359.

With the 55 running as good as you say it does IMO it would make moer sense to move up a little.

A Husky 365 or 372 would be a good start or the Dolmar 7900!!!
