I have a latter 61 currently with a 18" 3/8 .058 bar on it. I am thinking about getting a 24" bar for it. Should I get a .058 or a .050. Also I have a new 16" 3/8 .050 bar and chain. Can I use it on my 61 or do I need to get a .058. Thanks

You won't have any problems using your 16" .050 bar/chain combo on your 61.

.050 or .058 doesn't make any difference, provided the bar and chain are the same gauge.

If the tail pattern on your 16" bar is "large Husky"/Oregon D009, it is good to go.

My personal thought is that 24" is just too much bar for a Husky 61, but is really up to you and your expectations - at least use skip chain on it.
