Help, I need to find a good used/new clutch for an old Husky 61 I've got. The shoes have a rib worn into them.

I have a new sprocket / drum but don't want to put this old clutch back into it. If any of you Arboristsite members might happen to have one that could be for sale or know a good place to get old Husky parts please let me know.

My local sources range from $$$ and knowledgeable and not open on Sat. or noon hours to $$$ and have to find the PN myself in their parts books which I'm sure won't go back that far as they didn't exist when 61's were made.

Thanks,

Don

I am not trying to be cute but,it should not be difficult to order that clutch from your local Husky dealer. It is also not unusual to run into 8 to 5 weekday and noon saturday hours for the parts counters. You would have the same problem if you needed to order a part from your local car dealer.

Tony,

Rupedog emailed me with the PN so I'll call around tomorrow and see what the damage is going to be.

So far I haven't had any problems getting parts from my local auto dealers over lunch hour or after work. Usually I call in my order so they have them waiting. It's just that the local guy is a one man operation and is open less hours than I'm at work. I haven't been able to get him to stretch them in any direction even by appointment. His good points is that he does seem to have a pretty good stock of parts. He did have a new air filter in stock for the old 61.

Talked to my local dealer yesterday. He didn't have a new one in stock but it looks like he has a good used one he'll sell me for about half price of new. I'll have to sneak away from work sometime today to take a look at it and compare to the one I got.

It will be good to get the old girl going again.
