Saw this at the local Lowe's. The thing fit well, but I was curious about the mesh face. Seems like it's plastic. Or it feels like plastic. I was expecting something sturdier feeling. Is there a different model somewhere else?

I have a few of them. They work well. Mine are several years old. The mesh in mine is metal, possibly covered in a plastic based paint.

friend of mines got one, its held up well even after a guy jumped off a truck bed onto it and crushed the face shield. Straitened it back out and its held up great ever since. moral of the story look before you leap.

Yep if it's comfortable, go for it. I have the Stihl version and it's ok. All of them can be irritating in some way or another. They are usually hot and a pita. I prefered a "tinner pail" and ear plugs but the owner passed these out so.......

i wear an old construction hard hat that i put my earmuffs and visor on. it fits nice but it can fall off sometimes when i look up into the canopy of the tree.
