Depends on who wants to know, and why.
I've run a couple many years ago, but don't have a clue as to what models they were. I'm not a Husky guy, but that doesn't mean I don't want to know more about them.

What models (old or new) are in demand the most? I know enough about Stihl so that if I happen across one, I know if it's a good (desirable) model or not.

Can someone make a list of the most popular Husqvarna models for me? By doing that, I can print it out and keep it in my wallet for future reference. Just the model #s' would be great. I don't need to know cc's or whether or not, they are pro-grade. I'll just assume that if it's on the list, it's a good one.

Thanks!!

Popular ones include the 346, 372, 390, etc. The XP would be a good indicator of desirability. Like any brand, the values for different models vary so you would still need to have some decent idea of what the range is for a particular model. As a general rule, here in the USA Husky saws retail for quite a bit less than the similar displacement Stihl. For instance, the 372xp can be had new for $800 but I don't think you'll find a 440/441 for that.

Thanks guys!

I've run into some Huskys in the past, but never really gave um a second look. Places like pawn shops, flea markets, yard sales, etc.

Hell, just a year or so ago, a guy down the street from us had a yard sale, and he had two good-sized Huskys for sale. I can't recall the model #'s, but they were in good shape. Both had at least 24" bars on um.

Those model #'s will be a big help.

To keep it real simple, I'd suggest you address this directly to @spike60 simply because he is a walking encyclopedia on Husqy/Jonsered, besides a sponsor. Just ask nicely. I'm sure others here (like me) would be very interested in Bob's answer.

One of my little rules-of-thumb is that the pro Husqys have black mufflers vs silver on homeowner/rancher models. Waiting quietly for Bob and/or Nico to straighten me out. :buttkick: (Thanks, I needed that.)

262s and 288s are so worthless that Im buying backups for my backups. Just unpacked another mint 262xp tonight.;)

254xp and 272xps are sweet saws too.

and then you have the 346, 372, and 390.

and the 395xps.

all are even better ported.

also, 357, 359, Triple Nickle are worth mentioning.

if you will take off the Stihl blinders you will find that you get more for your money with Husq than Stihl. I love both brands. As my Cad and Pad (had 29 saws ported now) has evolved, Ive come to the realization that the model # is more important than the name of the manufacturer. There are desirable models from both Husq and Stihl. If you stick to the models... you wont go wrong.

If you will take off the Husqy blinders, you'll find that you get more quantity for your money with hunky, but you'll never end up with more quality.

i wanted to say the same thing but i am too tired and don't want to hear someone whine ....... lol

Typical. Yep, Stihl is the only manufacturer that produces a quality saw. Never made a POS in all their years in business. Pretty much the Messiah of the OPE industry. I heard that if a guy straps a Stihl to each boot he can walk on water. Unless they're 090's, those are straight up boat anchors.

stihls are overpriced/overrated because of people like you ;) i just want you to know skier that all your pretty stihls these days are actually obese husky's. stihl copied damn near everything except the 3/4 wrap and the decomp valves. they just didn't succeed in fitting it all in a nice small agile package.

090,076, 075, 056,050, 048, 042, 041, 040, 032, 031, 030.......etc were all trash. i know for a fact that i didn't even list half the ones i hate because i never was interested in them enough to pay attention to them. i have thrown countless in the dump cause i just can't force myself to work on alot of them. about the only ones you'll ever see me use are the 70cc+ semi modern/modern ones. the 60cc as well but maybe one a year. i know everyone's different but you know when you try to use a left handed hockey stick or golf club when your actually right handed. i look at stihl guys like that and say " i don't know how ya do it when you got a way better option". i use even a modern stihl for an hour and i'm look'n for a husky.

It worked for me. I strapped a couple of Stihl 650's to my ankles and made it from Oakville to Owen Sound.

I dunno John, I kinda like my 090G's with 72 & 96 inch bars. Though, they do not make for a great limbing saw. But I also like me a ported 372 & Mac 125 & 82cc Mac. I care more about model and application than I do brand.
Those g models are crazy saws. Thank gawd we got collectors around here.

Yup, crazy they is. A big hoot to run as well. All those cutters yank you into the wood if not ready. Those things just don't stop. Or not easy leastwise.

I was just looking tonight and I noticed that my Stihls are now outnumbered by my Huskys... I am a little partial to my 064 and my recently acquired 440, though my favorite 70cc saw is a 2171 Jonsered (also a Husqvarna).

My absolute favorite saw to run is a Dolmar 7900, but most of youz bitches talk crap about them. So to all you 7900 haters, I say...
