Has anyone ever seen the Husqvarna Protective Bibs? Not chaps, but actual bibs. They are not listed on the Husky web site. I've seen a handful of suppliers on the web, and with one exception, they all appear to be West Coast. I'm thinking it's one of those Husky USA versus direct-from-Husqvarna things. They also seem to be commonly available in the UK. Part number (for one particular size) is 605 0002 77.

Anyone have any experience with them at all? Or know anyone who has? Or ever had a buddy who knew a guy who saw some on TV?

For the Husky dealers out there...does that part number show up in any databases?

TIA.

I saw a pair last week

Looked like they would be nice for cold weather.. and hot as all get out for warm weather cutting. The guy was an instructor at a logging class I sat in on for two days. I am gathering that husky is a sponsor of his.. Seemed a lot of his items said husky. Prizes and giveaway type stuff.
I have no idea where he got the bibs though. But they do exist

Thanks Eric. I wondered about the heat factor, because they have a tiny picture on the sellers' websites that show the bibs being worn with a short-sleeve shirt. You confirmed my suspicions.

What did you think of the class? I was talking to a Husky rep last week and he was apparently some type of instructor in a Husky-sponsored class. I could tell he knew less than nothing about sawing when he showed me how he holds a saw (we were debating the old Jred/Husky handlebar angle!), and he stood directly over the bar of his saw, with his head right in the kickback path. I showed him what he was doing wrong, and he just sort of stammered. TIMMAH!!!

Well this man Knew his stuff

He did an excellent job. Very informative about leans and limits. Joe knew how to properly do all the aspects of felling timber.

The part# you listed would of been for a size large with32" inseam. I have a pair of them, and I use them in the winter, they are warm and easy to remove also less restrictive than Carharts. I checked on my retailer website and it shows them as NLA (no longer available). You may check around with some dealers and see if they have any. That is about as much help as I can offer.

I guess you are referring to protective trousers for chainsaw use.

If so, they are "everywhere" here - chaps are not common at all.

Most are Husky, Stihl or Jonsered branded, and each brand has several different styles and price classes.

At least the best and most comfortable ones are made at the same factory, regardless of brand.

No SawTroll these were bib overalls with protective material built into the legs, similar to the pants (or trousers as you folks call them). The pants are still available (Summer Pants or Winter Pants).

Right. The bibs I'm talking about look like this (from a UK website):

I wondered if they might not be NLA...looks like I better get 'em quick if I want 'em...thanks AZ.

We call that type/style protective trousers (or pants) also here.........

Many basic models are availiable with or without the upper part.

It's that upper part that makes them bibs here. If they only come up to your beltline, we call 'em pants.

Regardless of name, it looks like no joy on them.

I called all the websites that were offerering them for sale here, and not a single one actually had them. Like AZLOGGER said, they are NLA. It looks like, if I want them, I will have to either order them from England (and that won't be cheap), or see if a dealer has any leftover stock.

Thanks for the help guys.

They're No Longer Available (NLA) here. Our dealers can only get "parts" that Husky imports, and the bibs are no longer imported.
