I stopped in the local trading post(pawn shop) today on my way home and did a casual walk around, no saws.....none. I strike up a conversation with the owner and tell him to call me if any saws come in. He said too bad he hadn't known that the other day when a guy came in with a much larger saw than he wanted to buy........geez! After talking a couple minutes he told me he has one saw out back that was there when he bought the place but it has an electronic issue. He walks out back and returns with a 1100CD in pretty darn good shape. It still had the tag on it from when the previous owner had it in the shop and it said this "Electronic-going causing kickback. No longer available". I am not sure how to interpret that?

The saw looks to have been used very little for it's age, no cracks, muffler not rusted much and everything looks good under the covers. Just needs a good cleaning from sitting around. He said 50 bucks takes it out the door......I ran out the door with it.

Nice score. Musta have been something in the air last week as I found a second 1100CD myself in really good condition, runs like a champ.

this saw has however a pita electronic ignition that's real difficult to find a replacement for if it doesn't work anymore.

The stator plate can be adjusted however so yours could be off a tad. There's a marking on the crankcase if my memory serves me right.

This saw has tough compression which is hard on the starter. You also shall notice that AV was net the best either. But a very compact monster saw...I like it.

I was looking at the specs in the Collectors Corner and it says the 2100CD has that type adjustment on the electronics, but the 1100CD is fixed. Looks like I might be searching for some hard to find parts if the ignition is bad.

It'd be real good for parts, but I would much prefer to see it run.

Nice find there Moss. I don't want to steal your thread but don't want to start another with the same title. You see I also got a 1100 today. It don't look near as good as yours but with a little TLC it should be a good runner. Compression is awsome.

My question is for the Husky experts as to where do you find the identification plate on these things. I was told it was a 1100 and I have no reason to believe that it isnt, just curious. Mine looks like it has had the top covers changed if yours are original.

yo might try unhooking the kill switch and seeing what that does , someone told me i had a bad ignition , it was cutting out sounds like its missing, when i got home i read something on another website for saws that said always check for spark on these old saws witht the kill switch unhoked . so i clipped the wire going to the kill switch and problem solved. these 1100 and 2100 are excellent saws . my 2100 pulls like a freight trane , buried up from the tip to the dawgs and dosent even bog down . wonder if a ignition off a 380 or 480 would work on this saw . i gave a guy a ignition for a 480 a while back might could scratch up another one .

modified mark if you look directly under the exhaust outlet on the muffler on the crankcase it looks like it was rivited there . thats where it is on my 380 and 2100 , you could see it n the pic if it was still on there i believe yours is gone .

if i did this right it should be circled in the pic

Thanks Wes, I should have seen that, but I really didn't have any time with it yet. I didn't see the one on Moss's picture either, that's why I went ahead and asked.

I'll get a closer look at it this weekend, but the only thing that sticks out so far is someone must have rigged up some new bar studs on it as there now 3/8's instead of the stock 9mm. Not a big deal though as that isnt much to file out of a bar. It has a .404 pitch rim on it, and I have no .404 chain and bars here so I guess I'll just switch it over to 3/8's pitch for now.

Right you are my friend! I looked at the Collectors Corner photo of the 1100CD and sure enough, there is the tag right where you said it should be. Mine is missing the tag too, kinda makes me wonder why it isn't there?

my 380 cd parts saw was missing it , they break , crack across where they are rivited down . and i would imagine that once they crack the vibs just shake it on off . but if the ignition will cross over form a 480 c.d. i know where there was a runner here while back i can pick up for 100 dollars and you could part it out . and i know where there is a scrap yard full of old saws might take me a lil while to dig outa c.d. style saw but i go once a month and buy 5 old parts saws for 50 bucks. not a bad deal if you ask me , last week i picked up 5 stihls parts saws , 009 011 038 042 and one i havent i.d.ed yet but it was for ten bucks and of german decent so i couldnt leave it all alone amongst the huskies and homies and poulans. lol . hope you find the part your needing , kind of hard to find these old parts , i also know where there is a place that has truck loads of nos stihl parts theymight have some huskie too . if you want tehnumber just p.m. me its worth a call .

mark i did notice that yours has a different top on it , yours might be a 2100, dunno really just noticed the difference, mine has a top like yours .

I just compared the IPL for the 480 and the 1100, the ignitions appear to be different.

There is a dealer near me that sold Husqvarna's a few years ago and he has a ton of parts, if I can't get spark out of this ignition I'll hit him up. After that I might be needing that contact information from you!

Wes, by the IPL's I have it shows that the 1100 could have had either of two tops on it, so this one maybe correct for all I know. I assume the air filter cover was changed as it has a XP sticker on it.

Messed with it a little last night, wouldnt idle seemed too rich and the carb screws didn't do much. Took the carb off and found the screw holding the inlet lever shaft was not tight and the shaft and lever were way up there.

I'll go ahead and kit it while I'm in there and I found the lever on the end of the throttle shaft is loose and wobbly so maybe I can peen it back tight again also. Compresson checked at 145lbs.

Seems I need a few parts for it, it needs a gas cap or at least a new rubber washer for it, the fuel lines kinda soft, there is something missing over the tank vent, and the clutch wont disingage so it may need a new clutch spring.

Anyone know where to start to find these parts?

Any sponsors?

this type of handle is unique to the 380 and 1100, so I am pretty positive this is a 1100.

there have been variations in this model (muffler, top cover), mine both have the single type top cover like the one from moss man

here's a pic of the ignition on them.. one saw needed new crank seals.
