Hi everybody!!
I've got a Husqvarna 242xp from ebay. It was very dirty and I started the disassembly and cleaning.
After a litter of Oregon MX14 (great stuff) of cleaning solution and many many hours I manage to get it in a dissent state.
Original cylinder is a Mahle 42ZN13 and in good condition.
Original piston is also Mahle AB. Had lot of carbon but cleaned it carefully.
I noticed the cylinder had light marks of usage where the piston skirts are.
Mahle piston has small but noticeable play inside the cylinder (without ring) so I got a brand new Meteor B piston for 242xp that fit but...
Seems that Meteor piston pin distance is different than Mahle and will give lower compression..
Now I'm thinking using the original used Mahle AB (got some shinning in the lower skirt both sides) but with Caber ring that Meteor got in set..
Any thoughts about?
