Husqvarna 254xp Starter Pawls and springs. Help

I`m trying to install new pawls and springs for my friends 254XP.The problem is it didn`t have any when he gave me the saw.I`ve tried to put them on the flywheel but when I put the pullstart back on the rope doesn`t want to recoil.Can someone explain how they go on?I`m really frustrated with this.Any help please!!!
