Need to pay some bills so some saws have to go. First up is a 1991 Husky 272xp with an OEM non-decomp cylinder and OEM piston. Got new bearings and seals just over a year ago and a new piston ring this past spring. I don't know the full history of the saw - got it from a buddy (he did the bearings/seals after a bearing cage broke) and the cylinder fins were missing before he got it. Muffler had some cracks on the cylinder side that I welded and one top cover hole popped out of the case (by the carb adjust holes).

Great running saw. Chain brake and oiler are 100%. Selling as power head only.

$250 shipped.

Yes - original 52mm piston and cylinder. New ring came from Husky dealer.

Hmmm…… this is a tough one. The first thing I'd do is scrap that cylinder. With a presentable cylinder it would be a steal at that price.

Has the case been pressure/vac tested?

This saw will run just fine with that cylinder. It wouldn't be my first choice for porting or running on a mill, but for the everyday firewooder, it will last as long as the rest of the saw. Even though it might look rough, to upgrade it to a prettier cylinder wouldn't net the seller any more.

BTW, saw selling is slow now as it typically is this time of year. In a month, you won't be able to get them listed fast enough.

No question, if I were to keep to keep it for personal firewoodin' I'd run that cylinder. This would definitely be a flip saw for me. Any of my prospective buyers would run from that cylinder, no matter what I told them.

Still waiting on that vac test…….
