AS STATED IN MY 288XP THREAD ALL THESE SAWS ARE IN NEED OF SOME TIME OF REPAIR. I WILL DO MY BEST TO DESCRIBE THEM BUT DONT EXPECT THEM TO BE PERFECT. THEY ARE USED SAWS THAT GOT PITCHED TO THE SIDE WHEN THEY HAD PROBLEMS OR QUIT RUNNING.
SAW#2
281 XP that starts and runs strong. I did make several cuts with this saw and it pulled a 28" bar pretty good. It's dirty, ugly, scratched, and has faded plastics. Chain brake guts are missing, throttle can be sticky and hang up a little, has a few broken fins on the flywheel, needs an air shroud, kill switch needs repaired, and it has a goofy tall handle bar. Might need some other misc. repairs but remember its a PROJECT SAW.
