I looked around and dont see information on this model. Customer brought it to me, his complaint was oiling. I will admit it seems to be ok. Any issues to look for, or known problems.

Great saw

I have a 345 that has performed great. It has been muffmodded and runs like a champ. I've had no oiling issues either.

I like my 45cc Husky

I have had a 345 for several years. Great power to weight ratio for the price. It has been bullet proof. I have had no oiler problems. One time I was brushing trails, cutting in the dirt, sawing off stumps and brush at ground level, and filled up the oiler hole in the bar with crud - but that was self inflicted, not the saw's fault.

I have bigger saws, but I like using this saw.

I have one,it oils but not real well i have had it apart and checked it out but cant seem to find any problems though.I really like mine,it is a good saw.

i have one. it has been great, but the oiler has always been bad. i recently put in a 350 pump

I have had a 345 for quite awhile now. I have had no issues with oil...It is running basically 1 tank oil to one tank mix. I would look for dirt plugging something up....I know the bar shield from the factory has sealer where it channels the oil.....Maybe some plugged a hole

There was an update on the oiler in 2001. Machines with serials 011305251 and higher came with the update. The update was a change from plastic to aluminum in the pump.

Other than that, there's nothing else on the oiler. Good luck with the saw :victory:

I bought a new 345, three years ago. A year later, I bought a new 350.
I'd just as soon use one as the other. Both great saws. Light and easy handling and powerful enough for my personal firewood needs.

I had an oiler issue with mine, but i'm new to the scene so it may have very well been my fault!

Cutting small stuff was no problem.

Long story short

I cut some large stuff 10-15"
Hit the dirty 2 times accidently (didn't notice at the time)
The chips became smaller
No oil, next to no oil on the cutting parts and links of the chain(no smoke or blue chain)

Now that i know better i'm pretty sure the dirt clogged up The oil port on the saw and on the bar/rail guide
Once i opened it up a bunch of saw dust sluff came out. After a very Good cleaning it's been slinging staying oiled well but i haven't cut anything larger then 6 inches so that may help

Well, if it was much dust there, you surely cut with a dull chain.

That is no fault of the saw, but the saw will suffer heavily if you do it for a long time, you may overheat the engine.

I got one about 4yrs old. No issues. I did switch to a 16in bar vice 18. But the past year was my first in cutting any amount of wood(5+cords). I would buy the saw again though for what I use it.

Husky 340/345/350 Oiler

I've torn apart about a half dozen of these saws (340, 345, 350), and I've noticed a few of the teeth have tended to get torn up on either the oil pump spines, or the driving worm gear (some are plastic). Just an FYI to look for besides the plugged oil passages. The oiler is such a simple system, not to much can go wrong with it.

They are a great saw with a good power to weight ratio. I really enjoy the 345 i have currently.
