What we have here is a 2005 model Husky 359 e-tech. I received this from my boss, who got it from his son in So. Cal. All I was told was that it wouldn’t start. Funny… I put fuel in it and it started and ran just like it should.
I do not know the full history on this saw, but it does NOT appear to have been “__cked” with… ever. Carb limiter caps are still intact. Muffler has NOT been modded. Cylinder base gasket is still there. From what I can tell, it still has the original pull rope in it. The spark plug looks brand new… so I’m guessing that it was changed…?
Judging by wear (or lack thereof) on the piston, clutch, air filter, pull rope, etc. I don’t believe it has many hours on it.
Judging by surface rust on the muffler and screw heads and minor discoloration in the plastics, I think it’s been sitting in a non-climate controlled location… wood shed maybe? I’ve wiped it down and took the muffler to a wire wheel (I didn’t realize I was out of high-temp paint… so it needs to be painted now).
I don’t have a decent compression gauge, but it does have great compression.
Points of interest:
I would think that this saw would be ideal for the guy who wants to try his hand at modifying a chainsaw. As I understand it, there are easy and big gains to be had by the 359!!

Points of interest:
- Catalytic muffler – unmolested (needs to be gutted and opened up or replaced with a not CAT muffler)
- Old style intake – plastic clamp (will need to be altered and hose-clamped or replaced with the update metal clamp intake)
- Walbro HDA199A Carburetor – untouched, works great (better than having the Zama carburetor)
- Black Ignition Coil/Module – unlimited (not sure if the 359 ever came with the green “limited” unit).
