I found a Husqvarna 445 in A local pawn shop for $126.00. I know it's just a knock around limb saw but is it worth 126 bucks? It fired right up and runs good.

Probably, but that's my excuse for adding another saw to the collection Dog, lol. Right now I have a MS-290, MS-180, 012 AV and now this 445. I'm good for now but I would like to get one big saw, like a MS-660 or larger down the road. We have enough ash trees to keep us busy for two more years but we have some big trees to deal with after that and the 290 won't be enough.

I have a Husky 395XP with a 36 inch bar and this saw is a beast. Might want to give one of these a look, it would be good company for that Rancher.

Although the 445 is considered a ranch/medium duty saw. Above homeowner but not a xp. So you were partially correct. All I had for the first 3 years selling firewood was a 445 I bought from Lowes. Replaced the sprocket three times and replaced the carb once. Piston is still good. It's my backup now though. Use my 562 99%of the time now. I just got a 24" bar for it. It's not 90ccs but it cuts well. I had it buried in 34" white oak with a full chisel chain. It did fine
But I will definitely be buying a skip chain and only for the big logs. The 562 is awesome with a 20" bar. I cut many logs 36" with that 445. Just takes a little patience and a very sharp chain. It sure was better than using my teeth though.

I'd like to try a 395 but I'm afraid I wouldn't like my 2186 as much anymore. Probably better I don't know anyone nearby that owns one. ;)

My 394 doesn't make me not like my 385. Just the opposite in fact, unless it's 36" or longer, the 385 is just as strong and much smaller. Long bar is a different story.

A 445 to a 395XP is a pretty big jump.

I have a Husky 235 a 445 and two Ranchers with the big boy 395. I only use the big saw to cut and noodle the big rounds then hack everything after that with the smaller saws. I do have a 28" bar for the big saw but a very rarely use it. As for the cost I bought the 395 off of Craigs list with the 36" bar and chain plus 5 brand new chains came with it. Paid $700 for all and thought I did OK.
