I also forgot to mention that this saw got the single nut side cover like the rest of the 4 series saws and a larger spike.

Along with a different air filter, similar to the other new 5 series filters - which means only a shape change really. It's a smaller overall filter, but there's surface area on both sides of it now so overall flow shouldn't change.

Price point is $450 with a 18" bar and $460 with a 20" bar.


There will be 460 and 465 RancherII's coming out. I highly doubt they will see much for sales, but ya never know. I still haven't seen pricing for those models yet, but if they follow the same gaps as the standard Ranchers did then you're looking at ~%510 for a 460II and ~$560 for a 465II. That's getting pricey for a "homeowner" saw IMO, and no longer makes it a cheap saw for commercial guys to not care about destroying.

Yeah seems like all the prices from both brands are going up pretty hard though--but husky in particular. In the scheme of all the increased prices it's still in the same spot relatively.

Then all of a sudden a $500-$550 saw with 60 ccs and autotune isn't all that crazy. I agree it's not a grab and go.

That Rancher name has to sell the saw though. With a 555 on the shelf for pretty much the same price as the 465 might be, it's gonna be tough to sell a heavier saw, non-pro design, with the same or less power. And for that reason, I won't stock a homeowner series saw unless it's demanded specifically. In this area it's not all that hard to show people even a $100 difference between the 346 and 455 and they go 346 most of the time, let alone to the 353 being the same price. We'll see though, never know what the peoples is gonna want :msp_w00t:

And don't forget, that Autotune name only sells to people who are saw geeks/fanatics. The general public don't care what it says on the label as long as it cuts da wooooooood

If the top ends are interchangeable between the 455/465 we may have a beautiful thing here in the world ofsaw resurrection. But that's about as likely as Clay Aiken coming out.

They are all the same really. The E model has the toolless tensioning for the chain and the easy pull starter. The 450 Rancher is a model name given for box stores. If they're losing the 455 then they need a "name" for another model. The 450 I think will be offered with a 20" bar also

Even though this is a 455 Rancher it will be a dealer only saw, correct? If Husqvarna promotes this saw, it should be a big seller for the dealer to the masses.

The real question is if there are any signs of the 460 Rancher II and the 465 Rancher II? Those are both 64cc, which matches better with the weight and bulk of those saws....

They were listed in the 2012 catalog here, but I don't think they really has been availiable yet....

At least as an interesting alternative to the MS311 and 391 - it looks like those Huskys will be quite a bit lighter.
