I hope the real reason for the delay, Husqvarna is making sure the saw doesn't have any design flaws, and is truly ready for mass production. I believe we can all agree, the introduction of the latest generation of Husqvarna saws didn't go so smoothly.

I have started to wonder if they are going to "jump over" a generation with the 70cc and up saws, and the 572, 590 etc never will hit the market?

As I understand it, the 390 is about the "standard saw" on the US West coast at the moment, with some 395s (a much older design) in the mix - due to the failure of the 661 and 461 in that environment.

It isn't just what has been posted on here - if you looked at "Axe-men" over some time, most saws were MS660 some years ago, now they almost exclusively are 390xp. Any Stihl saw is a rarity with the PNW crews.

That does of course not encourage Husky to change their model line-up, when it isn't needed vs. the EPA.

Differences are hard to tell in pics as the 572 resembles the 562 as much as the 550 does. It does have an in board clutch and uses the larger BPMR7A plug that is common to most older saws. The test units were all orange, so any pics with silver crankcases are bogus. Probably another year before we see the production units. Have heard of, but not seen the 592's.

hell yes i have, was a QST running a prototype for husky. had lots of hours on it with no identification whatoever. i actually originally thought it was a 562 but then realized it had an all orange crank case with an actual full wrap rather then a 3/4. was basicly a slightly bigger 562. definitely not the same case as 562 like the 365/372 as everything just seemed scaled up bigger. it ran real good even in stock form IMO. i ran it with a 36" stihl light. no hesitation at all. couldn't tell if it was cold blooded like the 550 because he always wanted to let it idle 5 min before he started cutting. i'be bragged about running a 572 at least 8 times on here. where you been bud? lol
Must have been the big Swed.
Good guy!
