New member to this great site.If you had to choose between these two saws which would you pick and why?I need a bigger saw i'm using a husky 41 at present. Can the 41 run an 18" bar or is it a struggle?Went to site where the guy had the stihl manuals to download its great but does anyone know of a similar site for huskys.

Hi
I've got a Partner 660 its the same spec as a husky 61 and I need to set the carb, when you get an answer from someone I will need the site to. Good luck

Weight and basic construction is about the same, and there is quite a difference in power. No reason to consider the 61 at all, I think.
These saws belong to a huge family of Huskys. Out of the top of my head it was 162, 61, 61Rancher, 66, 266, 266xp, 268, 268xp and 272xp. Even the Jred 625, 630 and 670 variants were closely related to this family.

Why are you interested in these old models anyway?

Her is a few Husky manuals, including the 61, 268 and 272xp, but not the 266xp, http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order/webec/search.jsp?languageid=SE&brandid=HQ&docTypeO=on&docLangO=SE&noFoundTxt=+&title=200&format=HTML

Owned 266xp saws, used them for spacing and slashing. Killer saw, the 61 is a boat anchor, good firewood saw for a weekend warrior, but not for production work.

Great site/link.

Thanks for sharing!

Dario :)

Change the couple of "SE"s in the original URL to "EN"s for this and see if you don't see a difference.

I've not fetched anything because of my dialup limitations, but in the original link the document for "OM, iZE4821, 2003-04" is
"HO<font color="red">SE</font>2003_1140193-01.pdf" and in the (my) modified link it's
"HO<font color="red">EN</font>2003_1140193-26.pdf"
