I own a 1999 Husqvarna 61. Article number of the muffler is 503 47 69-01

Great machine. But a problem. I bought it last year. Used it twice, because the brake crashed. I just fixed it, didnt had time before. I also wanted to fix something else.

On the front there is the muffler, fixed with 3 screws and some plate on the body. But on mine it was only fixed with 2 screws (and of course 2 screws on the outtake.

But now the metal around the hole that is put on the outtake of the cylinder is cracked or how i should call it. So the muffler isnt really fixed well on the outtake of the cylinder. I can move it to all directions a little bit.

Is there any possibility to fix the muffler? Or should i get a new one? They are very expensive. I dont want to spend that much more. Already spent enough to get the brake fixed.

Maybe someone has a used 61 model muffler? late type (1999) (503 47 69-01). Which is still in good shape.

Thx already

The bracket looks like the one on my Jonsered 630, my bracket got cracked around the location holes so made a new one out of some heavy gauge steel and sprayed it with heat resistant paint - turned out real nice.

The bracket has two holes in it to get to two allen bolts within the muffler, these allow you to tighten the muffler to the cylinder head so you usually tighten the muffler to the cylinder and then put the bracket on, not sure what part is actually broken on your muffler but sounds like it is the bracket that has failed.

A picture may save a thousand words:dizzy:
