OK I know I might catch some #### for this one. Search ain't working.

Has anyone ran the Husqvarna brand of biodegradable bar oil?
Any problems, other than the price?

It is made with virgin sunflower oil not waste veg. oil like some other brands.
And, I do like the idea of supporting American farmers instead of foreign oil..

Does it work? Does it plug up in the winter? Does it eat oilers?

Seems like more homeowners/landowners are finding out about this product..........

It's just vege oil. If you want to be environmentally friendly (or just be able to claim to be such) then you can run vege oil just fine. It gums up and starts to stink if you don't use your saw regular, but that isn't such a problem for loggers. There's some good threads on it in the milling forum.

We run Stihl Bio Plus, many gallons of it every year. The company I worked for has several contracts in watersheds so biodegradable is a must. We have had no problems. (For me I will cut Bio Plus 1/3 to 1/2 with Canola oil from Costco, again with no problems, due to the cost). I normally run the cheapest bar oil from the jobber or if there is any spill oil I will buy that. (I don't like the red bar oil I was so proud of buying cheaply, too thin and runs out on the garage floor.)
