In the past, I've "rooted" new trees from simply using trimmed branches in water. I can't remember if I cut above a new leaf shoot or below to get a rooting system started. PLEASE HELP!
 
What I do...10''-12''thick as a pencil. I remove all the buds,except two at the top..one extra for insurance....:laugh.Some folks use larger branches,up to 3-4 footers.

Break off some leaves and plant it. Almost any size piece works.

Best to do this in spring. Will
be a little harder now.
