We have a Case W4 articulated loader that was given to us. Well the motor was blown so we fit a 50+hp Long tractor diesel motor on it. Thats like 30+ more hp than it came with, anyways, the steering is hydraulic. The seal on the steering column is gone now, and it sprays oil everywhere. NO seal to be found what so ever.

My question is, could a hydraulic lever be placed on the dashboard, and get rid of the steering wheel and column. It would just need to be a 2 way valve, with a one out and one in. Right?

Hopefully this is the right place for this question. Just seeing if anybody thinks this would work.

have you got the seals you pulled out.

have you been tryin to find the seals through case dealer for your seals.
try just a seal shop, ive found a shop thats 30 mins from where i live where i can buy the seals for my bobcat digger hydralic rams for between 2 and 3 dollars, from the bobcat dealer thats 1 hour drive away its 60bucks.

shop around you will find something im sure.

as for your idea i would think it would work but im not 100% sure as ive never been around one of those loaders.

Alright thanks for the advice. Im not sure if the seal is still around or not. I think it is still stuck in there. Ill have to check around for a shop. The loader is obsolete, and so are most of the parts. That is why we put the Long motor in it. Cause a rebuild kit was goin to cost over 1000$ and we didnt have the money to put into it.

But I will get to checkin on that. It is so nice to have that thing around and save my back.

What does the steering part look like? Alot of companys use a steering valve from Char-lynn Hyd. or Eaton. Like the one below. it has a steering colum that mounts to it.

Im, not to sure what it looks like. Ill check this week though. We had a parts loader but I think what we needed was messed up or already gone.
Sure would be nice to get this thing fixed, helps out alot around the house, woods, and log pile

ArborquipSP, I think it is something similar to that, but the fluid is coming from the colum, not sure if there is just a broke seal in it or has something to do with the box
