My Speeco has a vertical shaft engine. Had to replace it this past spring when the engine thru a rod.

At one time, I had found a place to buy a pump mount for a vertical shaft engine. I have looked hard and havent been able to find that site again. Old riding mower engines are a dime a dozen and if your handy with a welder and drill you can make a mount pretty easy. The pump dont care if its mounted vertical, horizonal, upside down or sideways as long as you keep the pump inlet lower than the oil level in the tank, it will work just fine.

image.jpg I just got done putting a Honda GXV390 on my old SpeeCo...the piece of junk 9hp Tecumseh tossed a valve spring for the third time and I was tired of messing with it.

I traded a cord of wood for it , it was a factory rebuild that the origional owner used as a spare for his fleet of power trowels.

And it's electric start!
