I bought me a Homelite XL 2

I went to an auction last weekend and picked up a dirty sad looking Homelite Textron XL2 for $9.00! It had a 16" bar, which looks like alot of bar for the little saw, I had one when I was a kid and it had a 12" bar, which worked well for it. Anyway, it was dirty and missing some screws and the throttle linkage was disconnected. I cleaned it up, dumped the fuel out (resembled hydraulic oil) put fresh mix in it and fired it up. It runs like a new saw!! My wife was a little depressed when she first saw it, but I showed it to her today after cleaning and started it for her. WOW!! was what she said.

I think I'll turn the wild thing into a go cart for the kids and keep the homey.

Nice light lil saw, I prefer them with a 14" bar, good compromise.

Those are great little saws! My first saw was a little XL2 with a 14" bar that went above & beyond the call of duty for sure! Matt

Iv'e had my homelite for 20 plus years, never any problems with it. Except it won't die. It's now retired to the back of my quad.:hmm3grin2orange:
