I just purchased new bucklites and new padding for my cas aluminum pads to upgrade my spur setup. The top piece of the spur shank with the strap loop doesn't want to slide into the slot in the pad at all. Has anyone else had to slightly modify to squeeze them in, if so what is the best way without compromising structural integrity?
Thanks

Are you talking about caddy pads? If so, they don't quite fit many spurs, but can be filed to suit pretty easily. It takes very little filing.

It's no big deal. Put some tunes on, grab a 6 pack of your favorite brew and hopefully a bench mounted vice. A couple sizes of round chainsaw file, and a flat file (not a raker file, they've got no teeth on the sides). Take your time, not much needs to come off and you want a snug fit. Aluminum clogs the files after just a few strokes, so stop and clean the files out with a wire brush. You'll have 'er done by the time you're half way through that 6 pack.
