52 i assume some of that is trim...........they saw a lot of 12x12 could be odd length for some weird market..........i'm sure they at least cut them in half.

Hey if its bigger/more powerful than what ya had it'll do better! lol Also that thing can crack. All depends on how hard it was worked before.

To answer the loading question about not running a log into the cab. Loading from the end and having that "cab riser", i.e. raised cab, gives you visibility and you can usually see the end of the bunk logs. Once you get those on you just match the butts if they are all the same length. Also on most of the trucks we use the trailer lengths are adjustable so the trucker knows where to set his trailer reach for a certain log length and get his one foot min on the end of the bunks. The one foot is a legal requirement that the end of the log be no less than one foot past the bunk.

100_1557.JPG the old jonsereds.......as you can see, the barko is alot bigger.....but i have loaded alot of big timber with this. yes im keeping it to, gotta have at least two of every thing.
this old loader is taller than most because it is on springs.....most are welded to the axles. i can see i will prolly miss that hieght so i know what ya mean there.
our trailer adjusts to but lately we just leave it at 45' as that will haul most of what we cut.
oh by the way, there are no cracks or welds in this old boom. amazing considering its age and abuse. its not a very large boom either.
