I don't use my heating system

Since installing my woodstove a few years ago I don't use my heating system and heat my house free! I love my stove, best investment ever. I scrounge wood all year and cut some from our property. I feel like a pioneer.

It's nice to have an existing heating system for use as a backup if you're out late, called away, or too sick to bring in firewood.

Mine has to walk buy a LOT of firewood to get to my tank...once a year LOL

Really surprised they haven't asked for it back yet.

conventional furnace, hot water heater, and back up genny are propane. furnace almost never runs genny 1/2hr once a week keep meaning to change that to bi weekly, hot water heater, well i should replace it just because it is 23 years old and has a standing pilot, but it isn't leaking yet and still doing its job and a new one is around $1200 ( note to those not familar with standing pilot- means the pilot flame is always burning)
