Picked this one up today......going to be a bit of a chore just rebuilding the reed cage (the aluminum corroded pretty badly) It needs a piston and I am afraid I am going to have to cast one myself.

A Poulan 306 Super Automatic haven't seen one in years but they are downright screamers...big bore and tiny stroke and if memory serves right on the money @ 3 cube

Yes they do....and I did do some muffler mods on one years back with larger can and flapper ala Mac.
Do you happen to know where I could get an IPL for it?

I'll post a pic of the tiny pyramid cage that I am adapting for another smaller displacement project....(Echo 3400)

Thanks but the Emerson eras are not available on that site nor anywhere else that I have been able to find yet

Thank you..I missed it scrolling .......found it now:monkey:

I am going to see if they can get me a piston and seals:biggrinbounce2:

I gave mine to a freind to hold on to, he sees alot of parts saws, and Mine needs a muffler.

It is quite an impressive saw.

Mine was about 5 bucks, had a bad bar/chain, and no muffler, but it crtanked right up and ran great, just really really loud.

Cylinder looked like chrome it was so clean.

I contribute some of my hearing loss to the few times I ran that saw...:(

I didnt have to do anything to mine though..I justp ut gas in it, and choked it, pulled the rope a few times and it popped a few time, I choked it some more to flood it good, get it all oiled up, then held it wide open and yanked the rope, started and ran fine. Has a big carb on it!

It sounds very aggressive when it runs, very sharp pops, like someone put some thought into the port angle and positions.

Keep us updated with pics of progress!

Also, keep an Eye on Ebay, sometimes a "lot" 0f parts will go across, usually they have a muffler, but Im not about to buy a nearly complete box of parts for the muffler, not at what they want for em!
