And it has nothing to do with dinner at La Azteca last night...I have a work saw used for clearing roads in my work. The work's done for the season and I've prepped it for long-term storage. I still carry it in my work truck..just in case (storm clean-up, etc.)...but I want to carry fuel in a separate container.

The fuel will probably sit for months without being used. Should I:
a) Add pre-mix to fuel and carry it as such.
b) Treat fuel with Stabil and keep pre-mix separate until needed.
c) Keep fuel and pre-mix separate, but refresh (replace) fuel in can every so often. This would be more of a pain, but....

Wadya think egg-spurts?:monkey:

But that's just me

I think option C is the best solution and will give you the best result, but it requires some discipline, as pest stated.

I'm an occasional user and I hate to prepare mix for very small quantities. I premix always 5 l that keeps me going for a few months. I use however full synthetic oil at 50:1 and some gas stabiliser (Briggs& Stratton) which has worked very well for me.

Option C is the best, but I am sure you know that already, Option B is not bad, but I would still freshen it at least every 3 months (just dump in into you truck) with at least 3/4 of a tank of gas or even better right befor you fill up the truck.

With option B don't plan on the best proformace but you should not harm the saw, with older gas (don't leave the gas in the gas that is when you have issues.

My insurance

My insurance REQUIRES it at least I don't have to have safety cans. Massachusetts resquired them so I got some but they wear out
