I have been offered a Stihl 084, told it is little used, I can't see it before i buy it (200 miles away).
1. This is an old model. How soon am I likely to have trouble getting parts? ( I might still be using it in ten years).
2. Are these noticeably less powerful than the 088/880?
3. What questions might I ask the seller? If it hasn't been much used, it will have sat a long time.
I have great respect for the people on this site so will welcome comments. I mean to visit my local stihl agent for some information but time is short.
I am planning on running this saw on a chainsaw mill I am thinking of building but I have a use for it in turning 50" trees into firewood if the chainsaw mill doesn't go ahead. (And also...I badly want one!)
