I Need Chipper Advise

I am wanting to chip short pieces of 2x4 and 2x6 lumber for animal bedding. I don't know anything about chippers. Do you think an industrial chipper would work? I am concerned about how it will work to feed this type of material. The pieces are anywhere from 1" long to 3 ft. long.

Or a planner , I don't think a chipper will make you good bedding .

A lot of effort n cost when you may/could buy in saw dust n shavings from a timber mill that's pre production so no chemicals.
But consider hammer mills cheap electric.
