This is my first post and I hate to bother you with what is probably the
10,000th post like this -but
I need some help. I want to get a nice chain saw and was looking at the Husqvarna 359.
The 359 is at the upper end of my price range. I would like to use a 20 inch bar and
don't want a plastic crank case. Is there another model I should be looking at?
346xp, 353?

Welcome to Arboristsite!

Nope, the 359 is exactly what you're looking for. The 353 would be a good second choice, but it would be working pretty hard with a 20" bar and chain setup.

You could also look into the Dolmar 5100s if you have a Dolmar dealer nearby. It should cost a few bucks less than the 359, weigh a hair less than the 359, and it is a heck of a good performer.

Prety much nailed it!!! The 353 seems a strong runner, but for the money, look at the 5100 if you have a dealer.
Nothing at all wrong with a 359 though!!

Probably more than just one hair less......:greenchainsaw:;)

Some people here doesn't like specs, so I leave it at that. :help:

Thanks for everyone's input. I might only use an 18 inch but I would rather
have a little more saw than not have enough.
