I hope yall are happy!

I made my pickup this morning, didnt do too bad...I dont think.

Got an 036, minus the cover and muffler. And with a badly scored piston and rings...dont know the condition of the jug yet, but the piston looks as bd as Ive ever seen. Saw is pretty clean though.

Got an 025 that runs, complete, minus air filter element and bar/chain and the clip that holds the clutch on.

Got an 018C? Saw needs the fuel line, and a brake handle. The bore looks like brand new, rings ook like new, piston doesnt have a scratch. But the main bearings sound bad enough to make even the toughest man cringe.

Got another Stihl, smaller one I think, didnt get to look at it.

AND I got the 031AV. Its all there and in great shape, minus the recoil assembly. Got the flywheel guard, but not the assembly that holds the recoil parts.

Got the Homelite 150, great snappy spark, runs on choke only, but runs.

The Poulans were only good for parts, but Ive got alot of great parts saw in them. 2 were new Strato-charged wild things, both were lean seized during breakin. The other 3 were just regular poulans, again, just parts saws.

NON-2 stroke stuff I got was 3 Tecumseh OHV utilty engines, 3/4" straight keyed cranks,

1 is complete, one needs a carb, and air filter, and one needs carb, intake, muffler and alot of work.

The one that needed the work, I have pulled down to the bare block, looks to only have a few hours on it, crosshatch still on complete bore, rings not seated, stil showing 0.005" ring gap. Case was full of water. No big deal, Ill make a race engine out of it...

Any ideas on the STIHLS guys?

Sounds like you made a haul. Whadda bout the Electric start Mac, Mac?

As for the 036 Bailey's has some aftermarket piston's that are affordable and might get you going.

025's bring some pretty good money on Fleabay, might help to fund repairs on the larger saws.

He said the mac was within eyeshot in his barn, he could see it, plain as day, but couldnt find a way to safely get to it. He said he's been looking for a reason to clean the barn out, and now he thinks he's found one.

He said he thinks it is actually a 10-10E...

The 036 has a Decompression thing on the head..is this good or bad? It still moves.

Ill get Serial numbers and confirm model #'s tomorrow, ive had a hectic day!

Im most interested in the big lunker that is the 031AV...what a beast!:chainsawguy:

Also, Ive had a handfull of Emails in the past 20 minutes asking me to sell a certain saw...

At this point in time, until I figure out exactly what Ive got, nothing is for sale.. NOT SAYING IT WONT EVER BE FOR SALE, just at this point in time.

The decomp valve should mean that's it's an 036 PRO.

Almost forgot, the 031's are neat old saws. Bullet proof magnesium tanks with that slow, low, rumble exhaust tone.

Red do you need any parts for the 031? I have a parts machine here. PC loke real bad but soem good odds and ends with it though.

Im going to pull the muffler and have a look at the piston and bore tomorrow and make sure its worth dealing with, but flicking the flywheel over by hand, it does seem to have some sort of compression, which has to be a good thing. Right off hand, I know Ill need a recoil.

If he finds an old Lister engine in that barn, let me know. (sounds like he's got lots of goodies)

Will do!

He said that his grandfather bought the MAC new, used the electric start till the battery died, took the cells out to lighten it up, then used the recoil ever since. He said it always started on the 2nd pull, so the electric start was never a big deal. He said the whole system is untouched, minus the battery.

Red, I cannot believe what I read. Keep us filled in on the progress.

Red let me know what you find out. If you need the recoil we can work some thing oout.
Bob

That is true, I think, but a dumpster is really the right place - ....:givebeer:  :ices_rofl:

I have a better idea, Troll whats your address? :biggrinbounce2:

Those stupid little saws will bring more in parts than they will in running condition. I sold one a while back that needed a new case and got $125 for it. I think new they are about $240. Some people will buy anything.

Red do you need the whole side cover or just the piece that has the pull rope and recoil in it?
Also PM me you address

The part I have, I can see the flywheel through the little hole, and there is an "inset" around it, so Id assume Id only need the peice that houses the recoil itself.

Get me a shipping total, and what you want for it, Ill get ya a Cashiers check out ASAP.

PM sent with shipping info.:rockn:
