i think i have some pin oak logs would that make good firewood

google btu conversion chart. Most oaks run from 22.5 for red oak to 36.6 for live oak per cord. I couldn't find pin oak specifically but it should fall somewhere in that range.

If you don't want it, drop it off here. OWB likes it all, also burnt it in an indoor furnace and had no complaints. Bark looks too smooth and tight, do you have a leaf to show. Pin oak has a red oak shaped leaf but tighter to stem, deeper curve or sinus (believe it's what they call it).
 
I remember running onto some California Pepper which I cut up and sold. It was OK, but to me it did not smell great to me. I had to sell it cheap because every one asked how is it compared to Oak. So when possible concentrate on the real deal. Thanks
 
Around here, what is referred to as pin oak is actually willow oak....that's what it looks like to me.

It doesn't smell good to me when split and stacks terrible, but I got about a cord for free so that stuff is overlooked.
