I've been looking over the local CL, and on feeBay for a simple climbing belt, flipline, and gaffs like I used when I was logging. Nothing pretty, heck, they can be uglier than sin, they just have to work.

I want a set for doing some rigging when I'm out getting wood. Some of the fir I'm getting are pumpkins, and any lift I can get is good.

I am looking for a trade -- perhaps some fab work? I have a lot of old Mac saw stuff and Homey stuff. Maybe a full wrap handle for your saw?

On the fab thing, it could be an aluminum 'thingamajig' you want made, or steel, or ???. The only thing I would ask is that shipping be comparable. Like, if the climbing rig is $14.50 for you to ship. . . The fabbed piece shouldn't be like $165.00 to ship.

I'd like to have the rig fairly soon, as all the weather guessers are saying we're supposed to get our asses handed to us this winter. I have a fir stand in mind I'd like to get, and the gear would save me a lot of time.

So, if you got an old rig or two in the corner of the trailer, or buried in a box, and you don't mind some trading. . . Let me know.

Thanks,

~Nate

I've got a set of buckingham gaffs in pretty good shape. I don't use them anymore and was going to feebay them this winter. I'll get a couple of pics for you if you are interested. Only spare belt I have is a pole belt.

I have an extra set of spikes Klein with the pads and straps, saddle Buckingham master, and lanyard(flipline or buckstrap)Microcender and i can make any length line you want and aluminum snap. all you need is a new rope and PPE. I also have some stihl hardhats. I can send some pics if interested. Its all in great condition. the best I can do is $300. I'll throw in a hardhat for free.

What size belt?

Shucks, I don't know? I wear 34 waist pants if that's helpful.

Pole belt is fine. . . I used a big old flipline in the woods. . . Manila rope if I recall correctly, just hooked to the rings on the side of the belt. Something like this picture below. Pictures of your stuff would be cool, so I could see what you're talking about specifics wise.

You have a trade in mind?

Your stuff sounds cherry, and probably more than I need in a tree. . . But, if you had a trade in mind, I'd definitely entertain the thought.

As a side note to all you fellas. . . I don't mind being a little backwards on our trade too. What I mean is, you have the stuff I need, so if I have to give a little more to get it (value to value), that's cool.

Thanks all who have offered something up.

I thought about a thing or two to fab for trade. . . A chainsaw vise. I made one a while back as a gift for a friend of mine in Louisiana.

Turned out pretty good, and gave me a couple other ideas to try.

Another thing could be a chain vice for hand sharpening chain made out'a spring steel.

A vice mount (think Wilton, Cleveland, etc.) that fit's the receiver of you truck. . . Those are waaay handy.

Another thing could be aluminum tool holders/accessories ideas for your belts/harnesses.

Just a little brainstorming. . .
