pictures may be a little dark. finally taking the time to try and figure out what this little beast is. works great. serial number is 1544014

thanks in advance. i've seen saws identified right down to being former rentals. this one came from a junk guy in ellsworth and had been at ellsworth small engine per a sticker on it. thats as far as i get. good around the house.

Your pics are awful dark, hard to see any decent detail there, but it looks to be a 49SP or awful close to it. Mid-late 1970's saw (pre-Electrolux takeover), very high tech for their day, and still decent today.

Thats a Real jonsereds, probaply raket from the looks of rear handle... cant say anything 'bout the model thou...

My Guess

I think it's a 52. They have the black tops and handle bar. They also came with an electronic ignition and the coil is mounted to the pull start shroud rather than the cylinder as on the 49. If it is a 52 than it's the same cc as the 49 but will have a 2 ring piston.....Bob

By the look of the recoil cover, I suspect it may not be one of the 49cc saws, but I could be wrong.

Do you have any clue to the engine size, or the weight of the saw?

I would like to see better pictures of the left and right sides of the saw, and the top.........

The improved pictures makes my suspicion that it is a 70-series saw (70, 66E, 70E) stronger yet, I believe the must usual one is the 70E.....

I have better pics at home, than I have access to here - will take a look at them later today.

no one taking the serial number route?

yeah pics were a last minute late night thing in a dark barn and the battery was low in the camera... i'll see if i can pop the top on it and take some better pics. that and apparently weigh it and measure it. no database anywhere that goes by serial number?

I did look at them, and there is very little doubt left.

As far as I know, none of the smaller ones looked exactly the same as the 70-series, from both sides......;)

really.. 70e huh

so ya think its a 70e? will get the rest of that requested info to this post later tonight.. hopefully with better lighting.

no one is touching the serial number.. hehe

the rest

hope these help out a bit. thats a 16 cut bar.. hey.. will need some bucking spikes for this puppy too... when we figure out what it is.

great little firewood saw.

Well, it is a good bit taller than my 621, my opinion is still the same.

...but you really should pull the muffler, and measure the bore of the cylinder.

Btw, what are the bar mount pattern, or the diameter of the bar studs (in mm)?
