Think I may like this set up better than how I was going to do it.

Perfect spacing to stand between the table and splitter. And I don't have to reach across the splitter to grab anything. I may add an extension at the end of the table to fill the gap between the splitter table and my table, but so far it's working out well.

I've moved my table a step or so away from the splitter. Reason being, over time I began to feel it in my knees at night, lifting and twisting with heavy rounds. It is quicker and more efficient of course to be close. But for me moving the table further away seems to have relieved the issue. Different for everyone I'm sure. Listen to your body.
When my wife bought her first computer in the early '80's, she said it would save her time. It didn't. She spent the same amount of time, or more, just got much more done in that time. That's how the SS works. You will spend as much, or more, time splitting, because it is more enjoyable. (and your splits will probably be smaller as well)
Look at Casey...he is working in the rain, on a Holiday. He's got SS bad guys...

It's more "I have a day off real work where my time isn't already committed and a butt load of wood on the ground that needs to be processed so I can replace it with more wood that needs to be processed."

Tell you what though, that ss makes quick work of it. I've done 1.5 cords today alone. With the hydraulic splitter I'd be worn out at 1 cord with no time to sit by the fire burning scraps.
