Visit Bob's Lawn Mower repair Shop just north of Maryland New York on Rt 7.

I went there today to see if I could convert my 797 from 404 to 3/8...That was easy. Just replaced the sproket.

Walking into the shop and there are just shelves FULL of bars, old saws, Cylinder-pistons kits, gaskets, filters, ignition parts parts of all kinds. All new old stock. On the floor a pile of 660 Mac's mixed up with Stihls, Poulans, Homelites, and just about any other that you can imagin. There was a complete MacCulloch 55 waiting for someone to take interest. He sells Solo and Red Max along with more conventional stuff.

I just had to ask about what other MacCullochs were around...that led to more rooms full of shelves with MacCullochs of ALL ages..some never run before. Pioneers, other stuff I couldn't recognize...and led to another building full of Homelite stuff. All new Old Stock.

Along with the thousands (no exaggeration) of old saws and tons of new old stock; the fellow who owns this place is a wealth of knowledge and a nice person as well.

Shock and awe is the best way to describe my reaction to the ADDITIONAL piles under the building and the fact he has another barn full......amazing.

So I couldn't help myself and bought a pair of 82cc Homelite project saws. A Super XL925 and its older version a XL800. Both complete, with spark and good compression. Couldn't leave well enough alone and bought a new Oregon 28" Bar and new chain for those Homelites. He had to close or I would have picked out a few more projects...like that Mac 55, maybe one of those 660 Mac's...

If you like chainsaws..that place is chainsaw heaven. By far the most compete and comprehensive store of any kind I have ever seen..Based on the phone activity I'm not the first one to discover this place. Get there while you can. Its worth it.

Old Macs,yes

It would, indeed, for those of us with the yellow painted saws,be a boon to have access to another stash of nos McCulloch parts. The scaliwags quit making them, you know.:(

Thats just amazing. a person with so many buildings FULL of parts and saws like that, I'd be in heaven. Does he have an email address?

Maby tu can tip hi of thease forums(AS, CCC), so he can keep contact easy.
And If he is collector should he not list himself at Mike's site

Mange, I was thinking about your post about blending hobby with business ...he is what you were trying to describe as a business plan. Very successful. I'm certain the guys like that one who was giving you so much advice on this subject would not want to have a chainsaw business too close by a place like this.

I do not think the lokation is any problem. Almost all of the other dealers know me and what I am trying to do.
One does not exlude the other. We do not compeat about the same coustemers.
Yesterday i came home and there was a saw standing at the steps, no notes or fone numbers.
It was an Husqvarna 444sg. I have no idea who left it or why.
Last night i cleand it and put another bar and chain on it, and started it this morning, no problems as far as I can see.
It was full of goo, and could get no air at all. I think it has been standing for qite some time.

Thanks for the info, I have an old Homelite 650 that I restored and just need an original Homelite .404 sprocket to complete. The Oregon replacements use a different bushing that is unavailable. I will give this company a try.

To Datatwins:

Hi Datatwins: I just replaced the sprockets and chains on my old 600D, C-5 and C-51. Went to .404 sprickets and chains. They had a 3.10" ID on the drum and 9/16" (.563") shaft size (make sure to check shaftsize with a micrometer). Got the replacement sprockets and chains from Jeff Sekkima. I'd send him an email or call him with the measurements of the sprockets, if you can't find them from Robert V. Johnson, 7632 State Hwy. 7, Maryland, NY 12116-3201. Ph # 607-638-9297. Robert lives NE of Oneonta, NY. I've written this info down for future reference in case I run into problems finding parts. Good to get this info. Thanks Weimidog. Would be nice to know if he has an email address. Everyone take care. Lewis.

I found the link on a random Google search which immediately sent me to arboristsite.com
Yes I realized it was an old thread/quote but I had a recent advertisement and I wanted to share
the information regardless. Some folks have been on this forum for 20 plus years and some are
new to the forum. Some may be new to the forum today or maybe tomorrow! Any information
new or old is valuable! Sorry to hear that Bob Johnson has retired do to health issues! I’m glad
his inventory is under new management! I want to give a shout out to Mark! Thanks for the NOS
parts for my Titan 70! The saw was given to me from a local area saw shop scrap pile and is now cutting
wood again! This is why and how arboristsite works so well! Now if I can only find a good clean fuel
tank handle assembly for my Shindaiwa 575! 😀
