We have an old mornark hurracane 2400 chipper. Its a beast. The clucth got fried. On closer inspection it appears the drum got stuck and someone put it in gear. This happened befor i was here.
Anyone know how i can get the belts off? I want to pull and replace clutch. The pulleys for belts are pretty massive. Where their attached the pulley can be split. Is that how its done?
Anyone know what kind of clutch they have. The infomation chart on the inspection plate is missing. So i have no specs.

I should be able to help you.

You have to loosen the 4 motor mount bolts. You'll see 2 threaded rods that should have 2 nuts and you'll need to loosen those as well. Once this is done, remove the belt guard and take a sledge hammer and hit the middle of the belts and that should pull the engine back towards the drum. You should then be able to remove the belts. Then remove the bolts from the bushing on the sheave. Then put the bolts in the empty holes and evenly torque them and that should help remove the bushing from the sheave. There should also be a split in the bushing which you can put a screw driver into. Don't drive the screw driver into far as it will split the bushing. You may have to hit the outside of the sheave to help separate them. The clutch should be a Twin Disc SP211 and I sell the clutch pack for $986. I would also recommend replacing the pilot bearing as well. The pilot bearing is $45.93. The plates of the disc should be 11 inches and there should be 2 of those.

I hope this helps!
