View attachment 218971I still can't make it work. I get the icon image to come up in my post. When I right click to get shortcut and past the URL. I get a "invalid file" message because the file name does not have jpg in it I guess. Maybe you could go over this again for us really dense types.

*Click on INSERT IMAGE
*Select FILES
*Select FROM COMPUTER - browse and select files, Make sure the box saying "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" IS CHECKED!

It will insert a CLICKABLE link like this one: View attachment 219389

FROM THERE IF YOU WANT IT EMBEDDED W/O CLICKING:

*Click the PREVIEW POST BUTTON
*RIGHT CLICK on the CLICKABLE link and select COPY LINK ADDRESS
*Click on INSERT IMAGE again
*Select FROM URL this time.
*PASTE the copied URL into the line
*UNCHECK the "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" - and this is the crucial part or you will get an error. The file is already stored locally now so you want to uncheck it.

*PREVIEW the post to verify.

The benefit of storing your photos locally is that a lot of online image hosting sites will eventually dump your photos if you're uploading on a free (or anonymous) account. Ever use the search function here and see a thread with photos being discussed which are no longer there? Store them locally instead so this doesn't happen.

My two big dogs. Don't sell those old 056 Mags short, they will still hold their own with a 660.
I think I have the picture thing figured out with photobucket

Does this work with pictures stored in "my pictures"? I can't seem to get it to work.

I had to do this to get mine to work.
I have not tried on line pics yet.

Still trying.

Saweet.
Do I have to post it then edit? It doesn't let me copy from the attachment until after I posted.
