The going rate Savannah, Ga. $ 42.70 per $100 dollars of payroll. The new thing here is to take out Workers Comp. ( for show & tell ) two man partnership & then exclude yourselves from coverage. Net result; upfront cost $750.00 & you have a certificate of Workers Comp. to show customers!If the customer dosen't get too inquisitive with your agent ( whose covered ) then you might slip by & get the job. Just another way our competitors compete in the TREE BUSINESS. The other being half payroll on the books & the other half paid in cash.

Just to throw my figure in (north Mississippi)..... 68 cents on the dollar here. It stinks - that's on the the groundies alone. I say, "they're never gonna get in the tree." The reply is... "well, if they're out there, we figure they'll get in the tree sooner or later." that's a buncha horse hockey!!:deadhorse: Anyways, just wanted to let you know that it could be worse!!!

Sad thing is - WE WANT WC INSURANCE. We don't want to operate illegal and we want our workers covered. Just having a hard time competing with all the companies out there that don't have it.

I have been able to hang onto my regular customers, but as they age out and move to smaller homes with less maintenance, I am slowly losing my market. Homeowners are much tighter with a dollar these days and are shopping around more than they used to.
