Oh yeah! Slow but gives time to split/load the previous round. We had a one man model that I was still using in 1953. Shift it down the log one end at a time. The one in the picture is way bigger though.

Hey, That second pic looks like one of our local tractor shows. Washington crossing to be exact.
The first splitter pictured I have seen in action, thoughprolly not the same one. You have to be nuts or mentally challenged to operate it though as it spins continously at about 100rpm while you just walk up to it and place the log in and WHAMO the log halves fly about 5' each way.
They were banned at the bangor(PA) show due to injuries.
The third pic is simply an ond hit/n/miss engine thats been *******ized. Not a bad idea though.

Thank you RBW for clearing that up for me!!!!! I was curious about how it worked, but afraid to ask because I thought that was how it worked. Sounds like reall fast way to loose a hand/finger/arm/foot you know!!
