IPM programs

This past week I took an IPM short course (1 week) at UMD. Anybody taken this course? There were people from 12 states there. It was very good , alot of info to take in though. I've got a bunch of reviewing to do. They covered alot of pests/disease etc. and treatments from manual, chemical and biological and why to use IPM instead of cover spraying.
Anybody here have a true IPM program setup in their co.?

Not to be anal or anything, but aren't they calling it PHC now?

By any name, its a good concept.

Yup they mentioned that they started calling it that as a more consumer friendly term. Said it sounds more saleable?

The term IPM is alive an well. Many folks
have expanded the term to "ICM", Integrated Crop Management", but IPM continues to be a focus of much effort. The USDA has just established 4 Regional Pest Management Centers as well.

I think the basic Idea going from IPM to PHC was to get people to start looking at the entire landscape instead of the individual plant.
