I think I have one...

it was supposed to be a 520, but turned out to be a 535.

I got it started easily, and ran premium with Stihl mix. Ran hard and strong...

took off the muff and it's scored badly. Just goes to show how good Stihl oil is... can help a ruined piston run good. haven't pulled the cylinder yet to work on it, but have a replacement if I need it.

it feels a bit heavy in my hands, but for what I wanted it for, it will fit the bill fine. it'll be the "roll around the back of the truck" saw.

535

A little heavy for a 50 class saw but good power. For a while it was the only saw I had.

Had one for a while, slightly heavy but well made saw with enough power for an 18" bar, reasonably old now so spares may be an issue but fine for a weekend saw for a bit of logging.

increasingly hard to get parts for....lots of NLA...

Anyone have a link for some air filters, having a hell of time finding one for a 535 I picked up and ported and plan to keep

Otherwise good design but oil pump and copper oil pipe aren't great. With careful cleaning and some Dirko HT in right places it oils ok. Lil Red Barn or something like that sells pistons in ebay. Crankshaft bearings are normal metric bearings, oil seals too. I'd say keeping in mind the age of it, it is good chainsaw.
