Is cash still a thing?

I can only tell you how it is in the uk, I havent travelled over seas in years and not going to now. All the supermarkets want you to use cards but now they are moving to pushing paying by phone, just scan your phone, I'm too old for all that crap and it's not a good thing that's happening. People working there dont see their job is going. One store I used to shop at regular decided to put fast checkouts the sort you scan yourself. I refused to use them and preferred to deal with a human, I said to the girl serving me "now they put them checkouts in your job will go" no she said we are ok management reassured us our jobs were safe. Two weeks later she wasnt working there along with a few others i would see. I no longer spend my money at that store.
A good friend has a garage, always busy and only deals in cash, he did have a card machine so customers couldmpaybtjat way but the charges just kept going up so he stopped that, now the customs pay cash and have a good deal. They are pushing this world wide from what I can see, they cant control the cash and anything they cant control they want it shutting down. Dont want us growing our own food, burning our own timber or anything they cant get their greedy controlling money making hands on. Look at the george Orwell film 1984.... it's happening right now. When I would be buying a $$$ item, I open my wallet and start digging out the cash and ask what the discount is for paying cash. If they say none then I put the cash away and pay by card.
