Is there a way to adjust the beam on a laser pointer?

I dropped mine when the pocket clip broke off, so now it doesn't have much range. The laser seems to be spread out too much. I've got the green one from SherrillTree.

I wonder if there is a way to fix that???

Probably not. Worth giving sherrill a call and asking if spare parts are available but unlikely. I'd just get another. I've had good luck with the 10,000mw ones from china. They're obviously not 10,000mw because the world would end, but they probably are realistically 500-1,000. The beam is very intense and bright and the dot can be very clearly seen in bright daylight without it needing to be pointed out to an observer. Great tool when selling trims/explaining defects. At night the entire beam can be seen clearly all the way to the stars.

Queue police/airplane comments.

I threw the one from SherrillTree in the trash. I took it apart, and it was adjustable, but adjusting didn't fix the problem.

I'm looking at one from Big Lasers that's 200 mw , it'll light matches. I think it will do the job. 10,000 mw might set the tree on fire.
