There is a saw in the local paper for a steihl 257 with air injection for 200 bucks. Besides misspelling the name, is there or was there ever a 257 stihl?opcorn:

I know husky had one but the guy has it listed as a stihl, only he has it misspelled. Maybe he has the wrong name?

Not a saw guy, obviously. The model number and "air injection" make it a Husky. For the general public, Husky and Stihl are kind of the same things...one of the "good brands".

If it is a husky, thats a preety good saw I think. What do ya'll think? Whats the best way to check compression? Put the comp tester in & pull? I've never done it. If it aint beat up & compression is ok I think for 200 dollars it could be a good saw to leave on my quad.

Why aint I a saw guy? or were you refering to him? The first thing I thought when i saw air injection is that it was a husky. I have'nt used a lot of huskys so I dont know all that much about them. I've seen 257's & they look like a medium size saw to me. Just wondering for the money if its worth it if it checks out.

A 257 is a GREAT little/middle saw. I'd love to have one.

257 Husqvarna

It is a 257 Husqvarna. Must be missing the top of the sticker on the starter. Its worth $200 in pristine shape. If its a good running saw I would offer him $149.99.
