I have to admit I know very little about Stihls, but I know a lot of you do and I really appreciate all the answers to my nieve questions.
I looking at some more details on a Stihl 075 that I posed about earlier before I buy it. I trying to see if the saw has a decent bar/chain combo. Please keep in mind that I'm looking for a big saw for milling.
The bar is an old Stihl bar that's been painted. On the butt it's marked "stihl 3 77" and looks like PN "3002 001 9553". The tip is a replacable sproket marked "3/8" with "0.05" under it and attaches to the bar with 3 rivets.
The chain is a new Stihl chain marked "STIHL 3/8" on the cutters, "6" on the drive links which I think means 0.63 gauge, and it looks like "D 4" on the tie links.
The clutch drum is definitely a 3/8 8T rim style.
My question are these:
Is this a matching combo of chain/bar parts.
Is this a common combo that I can find replacements for or is it an odd ball setup? I'm especially interested in milling so I'll be adding a ripping chain to it too.
Thanks for any help!
